Nevada Adds Eco-Friendly Burial Sites

Northern Nevada Memorial Cremation and Burial Society is now the first funeral home in Nevada to receive Green Burial Council certification, making it the first place where residents can lay a loved one to rest in a eco-friendly way.

The memorial home has taken advantage of the growing interest in green living and thus looked to improve the green burial options in the region.  It now offers sustainable burial and cremation services including:

  • Hand-crafted caskets made of bamboo
  • Biodegradable urns
  • Formaldehyde-free embalming
  • Toxin free burial caskets and cremation containers
